Naturally, I would let the train go on its normal route even though it would mean that the children playing on the track in use would be in danger because that would be the most logical thing to do. Further, I would also try to stop the train somehow so that the children playing on the operational track are also safe. I will also hope that the driver of the train would whistle incessently so that children playing on the track would hear it and go away.
But in any case, an intelligent child who had decided to play on the disused track, must not be sacrificed. Moreover, the disused track may also jeopardize safety of the train-load of passengers travelling therein.
